What is communion all about? How often?

If you are new to church, communion may be unfamiliar to you. As Jesus instructed his disciples in the Gospels, communion is about remembering Jesus death on our behalf. We are reminded that Jesus took the punishment we deserved upon himself that we might receive forgiveness and a right relationship with God.
By taking communion we are together saying Jesus’ death is for me and again putting our trust in Jesus for the forgiveness of our sins. We do this, as Jesus commanded, by eating bread and drinking wine (grape juice) symbolizing Jesus’ broken body and blood shed for us. During communion there will be time for prayer, quiet reflection and confessing our sins to God.
